Problems with Ethernet support via modems

Featured Replies

I have a BT homehub, Sky Broadband router and a Netgear Virgin Media one.

The BT homehub who is our ISP works fine with the unraid box.

However, using the Sky broadband and Netgear ones make both my windows PC and Mac unable to connect to it.

I type ifconfig eth0 and the IP shown is 192.168.1.64 but entering it into a browser on either machine does not work.

I've tried turning DHCP on.. and also setting a static IP. no success. any help please?

(preferably through editing files whilst on the unraid machine rather than through the browser).

From your PC (or MAC), find the network settings on both the Sky Broadband router and a Netgear Virgin Media devices.  Post them back here and someone will probably be able to assist you.  Your problem most likely is incompatibility in the network settings of the Sky Broadband router and a Netgear Virgin Media and the unRAID.

Most likely, if you get new settings that work with one or both of those devices, unRAID will no  longer work with your BT homehub.
