August 26, 201213 yr Hi there I have a 3 year old Unraid server running 4.7 with the following specifications: Intel Celeron E1500 2.2GHz dual-core processor with 800MHz FSB. 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM operating in dual-channel mode. A pair of Adaptec 1430SA PCI-E 4-lane SATA controller cards. A PCI-E single-lane SATA controller card. Unfortunately I have not been using a UPS and recently I have had a power trip from a lightning strike on my house. I have 2 issues: A) Intermittent network connection failure after boot up. Sometimes the server is detectable, sometimes not. Sometimes I can transfer data at hours at a stretch, sometimes less than 2 minutes. I think it's a hardware failure, however I am not a hardware savvy guy and don't know how to verify this. From the console side of things, everything looks fine, can access root and do whatever necessary. B) I also get on boot up, ACPI: Core Revision 20090903 boot up stalling. That is the last line of the boot up sequence. I have run memtest on it for about 8 hours and passed with flying colors. Easily solved if I leave it for about 8 hours it will boot up fine. Don't know why it works but it does. The above A) is a problem as I have about 25TB of data in it which is still secure. Last parity was just ran about a week ago. I am open to "guarantee fix" options like buying a whole new array and just reload flash drive and disks in the right sequence (does that work?!!!). The unraid hardware options like motherboard and so on are hard to find items where I am located so it is easier rather than buying an item, pay large shipping costs, finding it doesn't work and buying the next item. Please help. Does it sound like a hardware problem? I think it is. How do I get my data out? Do I just buy another array? Can I get away with just a motherboard fix? Thanks!
