Great drive and great price!  I have M4s in every Windows desktop and laptop in my house.  I paid $400 for the 256GB version a year ago.

Can you update the firmware and optimize the drive if it is your Windows primary drive? The Intel drives let you do all this, that's why I buy the Intel. I tried OCZ drives and you can't do any updates if it is your main drive. Very lame.

I just had to update the firmware on a bunch of our M4s we have in PCs at work because they were rebooting and not being able to see the drive. The latest firmware fixed the issue. In any case, they were the main Windows drive. Never heard of that being a restriction in drives before, but that is pretty lame.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I did that.  Its been a while.  I just checked their website and they list Windows installers and a boot ISO.  I noticed that the firmware on the website is a couple of versions higher that what Im using, so I will try it when I get home.

I just pull them and update on another PC where it isn't the main drive.  Minor annoyance  for me
