guyonphone
Hello Everyone, I use the script that automatically checks parity at the beginning of every month. Up until now it has always had no parity errors. But I am now receiving this error: Last checked on Sat Sep 1 11:26:06 2012 PDT, finding 62 errors. I have a few questions: 1. There is an option "Correct any Parity-Check errors by writing the Parity disk with corrected parity." Should I use it? 2. Is this something I should be concerned about? As in a failing drive? *Note*: This is an 11 disk array including a cache drive, and parity drive, it's total size is 27 terabytes. I am running version 5-beta14 because of a driver issue with the sata controller card I am using (SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8) I have not yet run a second parity check to see if it shows any more parity issues, as I wasn't sure what the next best step is. Thanks for any help! Link to comment
guyonphone
Ok, so I found this : http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ#Why_am_I_getting_repeated_parity_errors.3F but it is not 100% clear to me if I should re-run the parity check, attempting to repair the parity, or not. Any advice would be truly appreciated, hopefully some one out there has run into this before. Thanks Link to comment
