[SOLVED] Unable to Create User After Upgrade to 5.0

Recommended Posts

So after some great help here, I was able to get almost everything upgraded from 4.7 to 5.0.

I thought everything was working properly, but now whenever I try to access my TOWER drives from my HTPC I get a Username and Password prompt.

This did not happen before the upgrade.

When I try to check the users in the "Users" section of the webui, there is only "root".

When I attempt to add any username, it does not generate an immediate error, however when looking at the "Log" link, there is an error:

Sep 4 04:44:05 Tower kernel: md: recovery thread woken up ...

Sep 4 04:44:05 Tower kernel: md: recovery thread checking parity...

Sep 4 04:44:05 Tower kernel: md: using 1536k window, over a total of 1953514552 blocks.

Sep 4 05:23:22 Tower emhttp: shcmd (124): useradd -g users -d / -s /bin/false -c 'test' Netbug |& logger

Sep 4 05:23:22 Tower logger: useradd: invalid user name 'Netbug'

Sep 4 05:23:22 Tower emhttp: shcmd (125): chpasswd <<< Netbug:"*****"

Sep 4 05:23:22 Tower emhttp: _shcmd: shcmd (125): exit status: 1

Sep 4 05:23:22 Tower emhttp: shcmd (126): smbpasswd -L -s -a Netbug <<< "*****"$' '"*****"

Sep 4 05:23:22 Tower emhttp: _shcmd: shcmd (126): exit status: 1

Sep 4 05:23:22 Tower emhttp: shcmd (127): cp /etc/passwd /etc/shadow /etc/samba/private/smbpasswd /boot/config

This happens with any username.

Any idea what's going on here?
