Soul
I've been offered an APC UPS from a mate of mine, but it's a bit old and therefore only has a serial data connection: http://www.amazon.co.uk/NEW-APC-Smart-UPS-620VA-230V/dp/B00079VLM0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347197581&sr=8-1 So quick question - does unRAID some with serial support already turned on? If so then I'll just need to install apcupsd and configure. If unRAID will only do USB then I'll need to pass on it. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Soul
No not so far. I've got the UPS - just need to get a cable and test it... Quote Link to comment
BetaQuasi
See if APCUPSD supports it - http://www.apcupsd.org/ If it does, then unRaid (via the plugin) can too. Quote Link to comment
seanant
I have the cable and have directly connected via console from win7 I will try to change settings of the .conf file. I've got the x9scm. Will I need to change a bios setting of one of the com ports? Quote Link to comment
StevenD
I couldnt reliably use APCUPSD to manage a SmartUPS via a USB-Serial cable. I ended up plugging the SmartUPS into a Windows server, then using a plain BackUPS on unRAID. Quote Link to comment
