What 2tb drive should I buy in the uk

Featured Replies

dont forget that the parity must also be as large or larger that the largest data disk....

People seem a little off now with seagates as they only offer 1 year warranty, so that may be a consideration. WD Reds seem the new favourite but they dont seem to be available here in the UK yet.

I haven't had much problem with drives so cost is important for me. I have just ordered the 3tb seagate for £104.99 inc delivery/vat from ebuyer.

Is the Seagate constellation sata model available to you?

I'm running 3 of them and no problems with good performance. Those were used to replace the 1.5 TB 7200 problem drives in my system.

hi Seanant

yeah the Seagate constellation is available but its double the price. So when I need 2 drives its alot more.

Do you mean you are running 3 of Seagate constellation?

Zac

For the money i think your better going for a 3tb drive.

for the little extra, I would go for the 3tb - Im just buying one to release a 2tb but future purchases will be 3tb. Will also cut down on the number of drive bays you need (if you standardise on 3tb) because your requirement *will* grow!

I'm running 3 now yes. They're fast and so card dependable.  Seagate upgraded me with two sata models and for some reason the 3rd is a sas model. Good thing I have the norco 3x5.
