September 15, 201213 yr OK, was upgrading ESXi so i can run W8/Server2012 VMs...so had to reboot my server a few times. When i was done i started turning all my VMs on, seemed ok. Then realised my mapped network drives weren't working...tried to access webgui, nothing. Looked in the console view for my UnRaid VM, black screen with a blinking cursor, hmmm not good! Turned the VM off and attached the USB Drive to a W7 VM i have, would not install the drivers properly and Windows kept hanging/freezing. I removed the Thumbdrive and put it into one of my other computers, no File System (ie, RAW) and this 4GB Thumbdrive is apparently only 4MB in size I tried formatting it, that just gave me a 4MB Thumbdrive with a FAT partition on it. I expect the drive is dead ( ) but just wondered if anyone here had any ideas? i tried running EaseUS recovery on it, couldn't detect anything on the drive to recover. Might try and find one of those card readers that has the unique ID thing Limetech needs for registration...

(although yours could just be a hardware failure) Most are marked as a capacity much larger that actual, and most will even show the larger size when looked at in "properties" in windows. The only way you'll know for sure is to fill the drive to its capacity with large files. This test program will check out your drive: http://flashfakecentral.wordpress.com/testing-flash-memory-chips/h2testw-english/ See here: http://reviews.ebay.com/BEWARE-of-FAKE-128GB-256GB-USB-Flash-Drives-on-eBayeBay?ugid=10000000001236200
September 16, 201213 yr Author yea, im well aware of those sort of counterfeits. Bought this thumbdrive from Officeworks locally and it has been working perfectly since i started my UnRaid server, months ago... have ordered the kingston card reader that people talk about on here, will use that as my unraid drive. hopefully if i loose another card i won't have to worry about the registration.
