September 20, 201213 yr I have a few video files that I cannot delete from my windows box, as windows reports the file in use. I guarantee the file is not in use, how do I delete this file using unRaid or another tool?
September 20, 201213 yr First I would try rebooting the windows box, then possibly try deleting it from the disk share instead of the user share. If none of that works, then telnet in and use mc.
September 20, 201213 yr Author No change after reset, and the unlocker tool was unable to unlock it. How do I use linux to delete the file?
September 20, 201213 yr I'm assuming you mean you can't delete them on your server over the network from a Windows PC? Reboot the server and you should be able to delete them.

September 20, 201213 yr Yes, but a reboot of both windows & unraid makes no change. How do I "use mc" At the unraid console either local or telnet, type mc and the enter key. Browse to the file you want to delete, highlight it and hit the key that has "delete" by it, I think F8.

October 26, 201213 yr Author Thank you for the tutorial link. I am using telnet from a dos window in windows to run mc, and the screen is all messed up and the F-keys don't work. I don't want to hookup keyboard/mouse/monitor to my server, how else can I run MC and have it work?

October 26, 201213 yr Author Seems like they are using Putty to telnet in, is that the solution? I am guessing putty is a telnet client that I will have to install.
October 27, 201213 yr It can be. are you having that same issue with telnet? does telnet have those options, "Window->Translation and set Remote Character Set to something like UTF-8" or something similar?
