December 22, 200817 yr Author Check out Wanted with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman (I watched on BluRay, but also available on DVD). Special effects and stunts are amazing, not the mention the occasional eye candy. Pretty good story too. Sound is A+. Those with surround sound and subwoofers will definitely appreciate this one. Crank it up!
October 13, 201015 yr Thread necromancer! A few of my current favorite movies: Waking Life (inspired me to get into lucid dreaming) In Bruges (dark comedy, very gory at points) Brick (amazing modern day film noir) Stay (great cinematography) [rec] (the best modern horror movie I've seen to date) Also, how about some documentaries? Good Copy, Bad Copy (about the issue of music copyright vs sampling, great interviews with artists...p.s., I love Girl Talk) Vinyl (doc about people who obsessively collect records to the point that it negatively impacts their lives) TV Junkie (doc about a TV news anchor who became addicted to crack. Most of the footage was shot by himself - VERY hard to watch, but good) Anything with David Attenborough (Planet Earth, Earth, 'Life' series, etc.) And my favorite TV shows: Dexter (a serial killer who hunts other serial killers by night, works with the Miami PD as a forensics expert by day) Carnivàle (follows a traveling carnival during the great depression era) Breaking Bad (a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with terminal lung cancer starts cooking meth to provide for his family) Firefly (cowboys in space)

At the time I lived on the outer banks and was very young (2). The hurricane and this movie are about the only things I can remember from that age. Odd what sticks with you
