September 21, 201213 yr I've noticed that my parity disk + disk1 keeps spinning up lately. First i thought it was because i've left Squeezepad running on my iPad, and my music is on disk1, but stopping it had no effect. Is there a way to determine who or what is responsible for spinning up both drives? Where to look for clues? The syslog does not show anything, it only shows when i manually spin them down again.
September 21, 201213 yr Author Been closing all plugins and apps, stripping the server down to the bare minimum... still the disks kept spinning up every hour or so. After finding this post by Joe: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21401.msg190179#msg190179 and installing the itnotify package, i discovered that after 1 hour the time machine share was accessed, turns out my mac mini didnt go to sleep after i last used it a few days ago, and it's time machine was waking up disk1 every hour So, problem solved
