I just upgraded from 4.7 to rc8a and I am noticing one odd thing.

I can get to the disk share on all of my drives except for one.

 

I cannot get to the \\Tower2\disk8 share

 

I can see all of the files from disk8 when I go to the \\Tower2\Movies share so it makes no sense to me why only disk8 share is not working.

All the rest work. What could be the issue?

Wow no one else has seen this.

 

Let me know if this has not been seen before. I may have to go back to 4.7

Is disk8 being exported? How is it configured?

Well I am at a loss as to why disk8 will not allow me to access it thru Windows. I can get to it just fine using putty.

 

In a terminal session or console,

 

cd /mnt/

ls -l

Take a screenshot, or dump the results to a file.

 

Then

 

cd /mnt/disk8

ls -l

 

Take a screenshot again or dump results to a file, and post.

 

Try changing the SMB Security Settings Export drop-down box to "Yes" and press "Apply"

I changed it to yes and it started working. I then changed it back to yes (hidden) and it worked as well. WTH.. very odd since it was Yes (Hidden) in the first place.

 

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with hiding a disk from browsing, should you know the path you can still get there, so I didn't think anything off it. Good suggestion by stchas.

Seems this fell into similar issues like array will not auto-start until you click through the GUI and apply again.
