September 21, 201213 yr Hello, I am converting my c2d box to unraid. i have a gigabyte P35-DS3L motherboard. I cannot get it to boot to the unraid operating system from a USB drive. Searching on the tubes leads to me to believe that this is a widespread problem. Users have gotten around it by using the HP boot drive util, but that won't run on my operating system. (Win 7 64bit). I cannot figure out what to do, because a lot of the posts are aimed towards people trying to boot windows from the thumbdrive. Does anyone have any experience or tips to share? Thanks.
September 22, 201213 yr Author disregard. I fixed it by formatting it fat, copying unraid over, and running make_bootable.
September 24, 201213 yr A very good P35 based MB. Very well made. I am a loyal customer for Asus and this is my first Gigabyte one. I liked the features and the design.
October 9, 201213 yr Overall it's a good motherboard to use. Gigabyte P35-DS3L has some good feature that's why i would like to recommend you this motherboard to use. It gives you a long term support.
October 9, 201213 yr One downside of this motherboard is that the PCI-E implementation is only v1; this means that the bandwidth for a PCI-E v2 disk controller card is cut in half.

Should only really be a issue during parity checks though. It'll do for now until he wants to/has the money to upgrade components.
October 16, 201213 yr watch out for HPA on the hard drives! I had to upgrade the BIOS on my GB-P35-DS3R and turn it off.
