I built a new server and got to the point where I selected the drives in the device section and went back to the Main area and started the array.  Parity sync is now happening.

There is an option to format the two data discs I have in the system.  Do I just select the option to format?  Do I wait for parity sync to stop?  Are they going to be formatted automatically?  Do I need to stop parity sync first?  Stop the array first?  There doesn't seem to be anything in the instructions that states what to do at this point.

Thanks,

Brian

I don't think it matters if the initial parity calculation is running...but if it has never been done to completion, you can stop it, especially if you have no data disks besides the "unformatted" ones.

Check the checkbox and Press the "Format" button, the unformatted disks will automatically be cleared (as a first step), and then formatted.
