September 30, 201213 yr Author Got it thanks! Will it create a subfolder for the individual seasons? Ughh, still don't know why it isn't working. I just added a show where I already had some episodes but 3 were missing. I selected them and changed them to "wanted" But nothing is happening! I checked sabnzbd and it is not downloading and no download has started at all. Here is a screen shot of what I am seeing. How do I get it to actually start? I thought it does it automatically? Thank you sooo much by the way for getting me this far step by step. I would not have been able to do it without you. This was definitely not easy and all the step you had me do were definitely not in any guides. Now to just get it to start downloading lol
September 30, 201213 yr You can click on the hourglass to start it manually. In sickbeards settings there is a field called search frequency which sets the time between automatic searches. i have mine on 8 hours ( 480 minutes)
September 30, 201213 yr Author When I click on the magnifying glass it comes back with an X saying download could not be found. Here is a screen shot.
September 30, 201213 yr Author Thought it was because newzbin was down, but it is back up again. And I am still getting "download not found and an X" Am I supposed to configure anything in "Search Providers" from within sickbeard? I think we skipped over that part. Although I had newzbin password and username entered in the wizard in sabnzbd
September 30, 201213 yr Yeah, that's one of the downsides of sickbeard... you're dependent on what the indexing sites give you... i'm using sickbeard index, womble's and nzbrus, in that order, got an account for the last one. There should be more options to get better matching nzb's have to look into that myself as well. Would be great if we could just tap in on nzbindex.nl for instance.
September 30, 201213 yr Author Still no luck. A bunch of errors appeared in the log. Seems like it is saying newzbin credentials are blank.. Even though I enetered the credentials with Sabnzbd, and the username and password are still entered in within sabnzbd. I did a manual search for the episode and it shows up just fine. Sep-30 11:32:22 ERROR SEARCHQUEUE-MANUAL-SEARCH :: Authentication error: Newzbin authentication details are empty, check your config Sep-30 11:32:22 INFO SEARCHQUEUE-MANUAL-SEARCH :: Searching for Sinbad - 1x11 - Fiend or Friend AA and replaced it with \g\g<2>\g<3>11\g to result in %SN - %Sx11 - %EN from %SN - %Sx%0E - %EN AA (?P[ _.-]*) AA (%0?E(?![._]?N)) AA (.*?) AA ((?(?:eason|eries)?\s*)?%0?S(?![._]?N)) AA (?P[ _.-]*)
September 30, 201213 yr Author Do I need configure something in terms of the provider within sickbeard? Because all I did was the wizard within sabnzbd. IT WORKED! I went into to Config--> Builtin search engine for sickbeard, and configured newzbin within sickbeard and it found the episode! So what was the point in adding newzbin credentials in the wizard for sabznbd?? ---- Okay I will let it finish downloading and let you know if it gets moved right away. IT's supposed to move right away right? Also, how do I make sure that it creates a separate sub folder for the seasons? So season 1 would go into \season 1\, season 2 in \season 2\, etc...
September 30, 201213 yr Author It worked! Except one issue 1. It created a folder "Sinbad - 1x11 - Episode 11" in my share instead of inside the already exisisting show folder. It did put the mkv in the correct place, but the folder "Sinbad - 1x11 - Episode 11" is unreadable and I can't erase it! Why is that? And how do I fix it for an already existing show? 2. I have sent an nzb from firefox to sabznbd which download fine in the /complete, folder. I see that the mkv has been extracted correctly but it is in the sabnzbd /complete folder and it is NOT accessible from windows explorer! so I can't move it. How do I set it to rename the movie file to Moviename (year).mkv and move it into the correct user share? Thank you SOOOO much for getting me this far!
September 30, 201213 yr sickbeard is not for movies... it is for tv episodes... If set correctly, it should create a series and season folder inside your tv series share, and place rhe episode, completed with episode title, in the season folder.
September 30, 201213 yr Author right I understand. 1. I wish to manually download my movies. So I sent an nzb right over to sabnzbd directly, without sickbeard. It left the mkv file in the /complete folder, but it is not movie it into my movies share. 2. Also, I just did some testing, and althout it put the episode in the show name folder on the share, it does not create a subfolder for the season numer AND it is also creating something like "Showname - 6x12 - Nameofepisode" folder, outside the series name on the network share. I cannot delete this folder!

It left the mkv file in the /complete folder, but it is not movie it into my movies share. You could set up a movies categorie and give it it's own specific destination folder like /mnt/user/Movies.... 2. I cannot delete this folder! Play around with sickbeards post processing options, there should be an option to split up the file in serie and season folders, or in sabnzb, not sure. I wrote my own... For the access, go to sabnzb settings and find the option Permissions for completed downloads, and set it to '777'.
September 30, 201213 yr Author Thanks so much! Okay so I had to uncheck the option in sickbeard for "Keep original files" and it doesn't create that extra unreadable folder anymore. So now I just need to figure out how to get it to create a season sub folder. I tried downloading an episode outside of sickbeard by sending the nzb direct to sabnzbd. It is staying in the /complete folder and never moved. I'm just concerned if I send a movie to it it will be the same. I created a Movies category in sabnzbd just like for TV, but I left the script to "Default" Is there a script that I need to select to get it to move from the /Complete folder to the movies share and create a folder name and rename it to Moviename (year).mkv. I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
September 30, 201213 yr Author BTW, I really don't know how to thank you. I would not have been able to do any of this without you. I can't believe you're the only one that actually did a step by step for me. I really don't know why I had all these issues, and can't imagine how all these people were able to install these apps without so much help. Thank you!
September 30, 201213 yr Author I set permission for completed files to "777". But I still can't get to the /data/complete folder from windows explorer. It says I still don't have persmission! I saved and restarted sabznbd and still cant get to it. Is there a way for me to do it from telnet?
September 30, 201213 yr Author This is the path from the unraid webgui Index of /mnt/user/apps/sabnzbd/data/Downloads/complete That's where one of the mkv files are that Idid a test download by sending straight to sabnzbd. I cant seem to delete it even though I set permissions to 777 like in the screen shot I attached above. I don't know how to navigate to this from telnet. Also, how do I make it so that sabnzbd actually moves that file to the correct place on the movies share?
October 1, 201213 yr OK, I don't agree with a few of the directories given for the SABnzbd settings. If you have SAB installed on the cache drive then the directories given are relative to that path. In the folder setup page you want to use something like the default for the temp downloads and completed downloads = Downloads/Incomplete and Downloads/complete. On the catagories page you want to just use "TV" or "tv" or "tvseries" or something like that for the folder/path. SAB will download to the Downloads directory inside it's directory (ie /mnt/cache/apps/sabnzbd/Downloads/TV note that capitols matter and I have no idea what your exact path is). The post processing script will move it from there to the share. If you put /mnt/user/TV Shows into the SAB catagory page you might start to find leftover crap in your TV share. For the movies, if you're doing it manually you may want to set the path to the share for the movies catagory or at least some place not in the sab directory. As for the permissions, there is a new permissions script you can run from the user interface that will fix them. As for the SAB settings. On the post processing page, just check the Rename episodes at the top. then go to the episode naming section and put in the info you want. I just use the episode name check box, s01e02 format, duplicate and "Season %02d" for the season folder format. Make sure to hit the save buttons. That creates directories for each season. I'm thinking your season folder format box is empty.
October 1, 201213 yr Author Sorry just a little confused by what you are saying. The shows and everything is working fine. I got it working to create the season and everything is working great in terms of the shows. The issue is that when I manually send an nzb to Sabnzbd to download. It places it into the com/complete folder. But I can't get to it. Ther permission are not allowing me to do so. I can see the file from the unraid GUI. How do I fix this so I can get in here? Also, if I want to send a movie nzb to sabnzbd manually. How can I make sabnzbd realize that it is a movie (since it is not from sickbeard) and transfer it to the movies folder when finished. Instead of just leaving it in /complete when it is done.
October 1, 201213 yr That depends on what index site you are using. For NZBMatrix, you can add a the group tag to the sabnzbd category. The appropriate tag would be "Movies.*" without the quotes. If you wanted to specify different movie categories, you could do Movies.HD (x264) for example. To fix the permission issue, run this command from telnet: chmod 777 /mnt/cache/apps Oh, and changing the install directory isn't an issue, I recommend using /usr/local/ because it will ensure the apps are updated every time you reboot(since they are wiped out on reboot and reinstalled). The reason the check mark and data directory disappeared every time you changed the install directory to being the same as the data directory is because its by design. Essentially, if you do not set a data directory, the install directory is used by default. The way the plug-in checks this is if the install and data directory are the same, it removes the data directory field to allow the app to just use the install directory(which by its default nature it does anyway). Check out this tutorial, I tried to go step by step to help any newbies out with sab, sickbeard and unraid. If there is anything you think should be added let me know, but most importantly if you'll read through it and see if it sounds like the steps you took. Its been a LONG time since I've set them up, so I may have forgot something. I probably won't add smaller steps like all of the group tags because the only ones I know apply to NZBMatrix only, and they are covered elsewhere. The tutorial is meant to help unRAID users who are unfamiliar with the apps. Sorry you had such a hard time setting them up. The unraid installation isn't the easiest, and learning your way around the apps at the same time is bound to be difficult. EDIT: Would help to link to the tutorial, Tutorial
October 1, 201213 yr OK, I don't agree with a few of the directories given for the SABnzbd settings. It depends a bit on what you want to do. Do you want sabnbzd to do the postprocessing, or sickbeard. Sab can split folders, but can not add the episode name, sickbeard can do both (but will change and remove some stuff from the episode name as well ) I'm running my own postprocessing scripts that renames & moves, so i;m not 100% sure what the correct settings are for a plain vanilla setup. I'll see if i can (re)setup my own system using standard sab+sick to see where things go wrong.

Yeah it was a crazy weekend, thank you so much everyone for helping me out. I am using Newzbin. I am unsure if I want to play around with the install path again since it is working now. Especially since I had so much trouble in the begning. Do you think it will work now? Are you implying that once I reboot the server all the settings will be gone? Also, that chmod 777, still did not give me permission. I had to navigate with trial and error into the specific folder, and then use chmod command on it. On the specific movie subfolder. Only then did it allow me to erase it. Basically, at this point I am having trouble sending it a movie nzb manually from a firefox add-on and having sabnzbd rename, and move the movie onto the share. I want ot use sabnzbd only for the movies. Any idea on how I can do this? I am at work now so I will look over the new guide when I get home if I have time. Working late hours today.

I want ot use sabnzbd only for the movies. Any idea on how I can do this? Again, create a category for movies, name it 'movies', set the path THERE to your /../../movies share, and if you upload your nzb to sabnzb, you can change the default categorie to 'movie' WHILE downloading in sabnzb.
October 1, 201213 yr The nice thing with the above suggestion is that if you use Chrome or Firefox and one of the SABnzbd plugins, the category headers normally get automatically used when adding the nzbs through websites.
October 1, 201213 yr Not here... do you need a special chome plugin or something? I always have to set the movie or other categorie by hand. I've experimented with a sabnzbd pre script, so you can look at the a.b.xxxx group and determine if its a movie or episode etc. but a lot of web-dl's and bluray come from a.b.hdtv, so you cant distinguish...
October 1, 201213 yr https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/okphadhbbjadcifjplhifajfacbkkbod Should work for Newzbin and NZBMatrix, at the minimum (that's all I know as that's all I use).
October 1, 201213 yr It does make it easier to get the nzb to sab, but category wise it is still pretty useless... it uses the group (a.b.htdv etc) as category, and that is the problem... the group is usually not unique for episodes or hdtv movies or blurays... e.g. a.b.boneless contains about everything... Maybe i'll rethink my pre script; if i can analyse the nzb name, e.g. it contains 'bd' or bd25 or bd50 or bluray etc, ánd the size > 19GB, it's probably an untouched bluray, and i could instruct sabnzb to use 'bluray' as category. Same way you could detect movies, if its larger then a regular episode but smaller than a bluray, and it doesnt have season/episode info, it's (probably) a HD movie. Music blurays, another category i use, would be harder to distinguish from blurays... but if i could manage the above, i'm good for 99% of my downloads... tvseries are allready covered by sickbeard. Another brainfart... i get the nzb name in the pre script, the script could go to nzbindex.nl etc to see if there's an .nfo file with that nzb, and search the .nfo for more info... sometimes there are even imdb references....
