Problem deleting and renaming files/folders [SOLVED]

Featured Replies

This past week I made two changes to unRAID.  I upgraded to RC-8 from RC-5, and I reinstated cache_dirs from the simple features control panel.  I previously had cache_dirs manually running, but didn't realize that when I installed simple features, the line in my GO script to launch cache_dirs disappeared.

Anyway, since that time I have seen two issues and not entirely sure where they originate from.

1. When I deleted a few files they would not disappear from the file list until I rebooted.  To try and be very specific, the first file or two did disappear, but then I picked 2 or 3 more to delete in a single action.  There were no errors and they disappeared, but if I refreshed or exited and returned to the folder, they showed back up and I could not make them go away.  They would not launch either, as they were in fact gone.  Wheni rebooted, they no longer appeared.

Is this possibly a Cache_Dirs setting issue?  I used the default settings from simple features except setting a folder inclusion.

2. When I try to rename a folder, more often than not it gives me a "open in another program" error.  Once in a while it works.  Sometimes when I reboot both the win7 pc and the sever it will let me and others it still won't.  In one case I could rename the first folder, but not the second.

I think I have seen similar issues with windows before so I am not sure if this is a win7 or unRAID issue, but I have never had this much trouble before, especially on a folder and after rebooting everything.

Any thoughts or help is appreciated.  I am out of town for a few days so want be able to troubleshoot again until later in the week.  I thought I would get this up here while I had some time.

Also my signature configuration and hardware list is current.  I didn't think syslog would be useful in this instance, but if so can post it when I get back.

Thanks

There is an issue with samba, an upgrade to a newer version fixes it. It's expected that when tom gets back from vacation he will be releasing another rc with the updated samba. Until then you can either manually install the new version or rollback to a previous rc. Instructions to update are in another thread, on my phone or I'd get the link for you.

Thanks.  I will roll back to RC 5 until 9 comes out.  5 was working fine.

I will do it Thursday night or friday and mark this solved if all is resolved.

Where are the instructions to update manually?
