October 3, 201213 yr Is there any way to determine the progress when upgrading a disk? I am currently upgrading a 1TB disk to a 2TB disk. The array is offline and the drive being upgraded has a blue ball. How long does it normally take? It has been going for about 5 hours now.

October 3, 201213 yr The drive activity light also doesn't seem to be flashing? Am I suppose to do something to kick off the upgrade? We have no idea what is happening. What have you done so far? (please be specific) Attach a syslog if you think it might provide clues. What version of unRAID are you running? You might post a screen shot of your server's main page. It might be waiting for you to press "Start" (and it will wait a lot longer than 5 hours It is very patient... ) Joe L.
October 3, 201213 yr Author Here is what I've done: Performed Parity Check - no errors Powered down server Removed old drive and inserted new drive Powered on server Version Unraid: 4.7 I have noticed that the disk have spun down in the order of their size, like when a parity check is done. So it seems that it was computing the data for the new drive. Now all the drives have spun down including the new one, but the "Start" button is still greyed out. Note it was disk 7 that I was upgrading from a 1TB to a 2TB drive. It would be nice if the status page showed something similar to the parity check status. Maybe like %clearing, % restored, estimated completion time. etc. I attached the syslog and a screen print. Thanks, B2 syslog-2012-10-03.txt
October 3, 201213 yr Click the "Im sure..." button and then click Start. It will wait until you start it.
