October 7, 201213 yr As questionned in the title thread, i'm facing a weird problem. installplg command is "not found" ==> -bash: installplg: command not found with my 5.0-rc8a the only solution to install stuff is to restart the server, which, of course, is a pain in the hub. A question following another one, i've read (or did I misread?) that the plugins directory has been moved to another location, amirite ? If so, to keep the structure clean and avoid fragmentation, could i move the old plugins "pre-upgrade" to the new location "/boot/plugins/" without losing data & configs?
October 7, 201213 yr It is there... root@Tower2:~# cat /etc/unraid-version version=5.0-rc8a root@Tower2:~# which installplg /usr/local/sbin/installplg root@Tower2:~# installplg Usage: installplg <plugin_filename> installplg is used to install a .plg plugin xml file. You might just need to use the full path to it, as the "go" script does not get the full $PATH as a login shell. Joe L.
October 7, 201213 yr Author Thanks for your reply, but, sadly, I think we have a problem : Linux 3.4.11-unRAID. rootssh@Tower:~$ cat /etc/unraid-version version=5.0-rc8a rootssh@Tower:~$ which installplg which: no installplg in (./:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/lib/java/bin:/usr/kerberos/bin:.) rootssh@Tower:~$
October 7, 201213 yr Author Okok, my bad, as always ... I've installed Openssh to telnet my server. In the thread of openssh plugin, it is asked to create a user with root privileges that would be used ONLY to log in in SSH. That's what i did. It all works fine excepting that installplg prob... I tried to ssh with "root" user, it works and i can use installplg. Case closed. Sorry for being closed-minded
October 7, 201213 yr Yes, one of your packages modified the PATH variable. It normally has /usr/local/sbin Joe L.
March 19, 201313 yr I am having this same problem with 4.7. Can someone please help? I'm a noob and confused. Just trying to install media server... unRaid login: root Password: Linux 2.6.32.9-unRAID. root@unRaid:~# cat /etc/unraid-version cat: /etc/unraid-version: No such file or directory root@unRaid:~# which installplg which: no installplg in (/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:./:/usr/local/bin:/usr/ bin:/bin) root@unRaid:~# http://i.imgur.com/8gWr95W.jpg Should I just upgrade to 5? March 19, 201313 yr Sorry for double post... hopefully more useful information... unRaid login: root Password: Linux 2.6.32.9-unRAID. root@unRaid:~# cd /boot/config/plugins/ root@unRaid:/boot/config/plugins# installplg plex-media-server_mod.plg -bash: installplg: command not found root@unRaid:/boot/config/plugins# cd root@unRaid:~# installplg /boot/config/plugins/plex-media-server_mod.plg -bash: installplg: command not found
March 19, 201313 yr I am having this same problem with 4.7. Can someone please help? I'm a noob and confused. Just trying to install media server... Should I just upgrade to 5? I'm so confused The "plugin" system did not exist on the 4.7 release. You'll need to install the latest 5.0rc11 (or rc11a)
March 19, 201313 yr I can just do that by copying bzimage and bzroot over correct? Which one would you recommend? I just want to run the media server on the most stable one available..
March 19, 201313 yr I can just do that by copying bzimage and bzroot over correct? No, there are additional steps listed in the release notes and here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=25556.0 .Which one would you recommend? I just want to run the media server on the most stable one available.. It is my understanding the most stable at this point is rc11 (or possibly rc11a if running a MAC client)
