R8169 NIC does not work

Featured Replies

First of all, hi everyone! New to this forum and unRAID  :D

After facing hard drive failures (without any protection) on my current system, I decided to use some parts I had laying around and purchase some new WD Red's to build an unRAID server after being told by a friend how great it was.

It's my first time using unRAID. I just precleared all my drives on 4.7 with nothing setup and decided to move to 5.0 rc8a since I was starting from scratch anyways. My problem is that it seems that unRAID doesn't like my R8169 NIC in 5.0 rc8a, should I rollback to 4.7? is limetech going to bring the driver back or?

I've also been looking at fairly inexpensive NICs but they all seem to have realtek chipsets.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Found this from this thread http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=22615.msg201529#msg201529

Safe to use?

Try my build

I just tried it as well... working for me... copying files over to my newly built unRAID server now :)
