July 22, 200817 yr Two questions 1. Will the shutdown software, that comes with emergency backup supplies, properly shutdown the the Unraid server? I have read comments from forum members stating they use these power supplies, but I'm not sure wheather they used the packaged software or something different. 2. Can compatible motherboards be changed without loading drivers for the new board?
July 22, 200817 yr Short answer ... 1. No 2. Yes Longer answer 1. Out-of-the-box UPS support is on the list of requrested future enhancements. Follow the link to the "Best of" in my sig and you'll find a link to a detailed thread on UPS support that some users have been working on. Not sure the exact status. 2. There are no motherboard specific drivers that need to be loaded. If the MB is supported, it should boot off the same USB disk that another supported motherboard would use.
