i'm using version: 5.0-rc8a

 

I set my shares as "Public", so no need for authentication.

 

However, sometimes, from my Popcornhour, when i try to access my share, it asks for login/pass, and sometimes it doesnt.

 

why is that?

No idea, sounds like a glitch with Popcorn Hour. Try setting your shares to User Level Security and then create a read-only guest account for your Popcorn Hour. Some devices require a username and password.

for my PCH A-110 I set username to nobody and pass blank, works fine.
