October 17, 201213 yr I've got the X-Case RM420 (Norco 4220) which has the older style fan wall (80mm fans). I've been wanting to replace this for the 120mm version but could not find a UK supplier (or somewhere that would supply the part to the UK for a reasonable cost) so I gave up on this. Problem is one of my 80mm fans is starting to fail and I want to try to reduce the noise of the server so I'm revisiting the idea of replacing all the fans and the wall with a 120mm design. Does anyone know any good suppliers of the fan-wall part to or within the UK? And what are the quietest fans that will work well with this case? Do you really need the two 80mm exhaust fans in the mobo bay or would I be best replacing these as well? If so what would the best replacements be? The case doesn't have to be silent but I'd like to try and reduce the noise without compromising cooling.
October 17, 201213 yr Given where you likely got the case, this is probably a daft suggestion that you've already tried - but xcase no use? They helped me out with a replacement backplane without any fuss.
