October 20, 201213 yr Current configuration is 1.5TB parity, 4 1TB data and a 500gb cache drive. I had a 1TB drive fail and the only drive I have to replace it with is a 2TB but my parity drive is obviously 1.5TB. I would ultimately like to have the 2TB drive be in the parity slot but I don't think I can do that and replace the failed drive at the same time. What is the best procedure to ensure I don't lose any data? Can I rebuild the array minus the 1TB and then swap out the parity drives? I can bring the array online but it says it will be unprotected.
October 20, 201213 yr Author Ok a little more searching and I think I found my answer. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2943.msg24333#msg24333 I hope this is the correct procedure.
October 20, 201213 yr Author Well I did what is outlined in the thread mentioned above and I get no response at http:\\tower. I let the process start and it said copying disc 4 to disc 1 and that is the last thing in the syslog besdies a couple of root logins. Is there a way to check on progress with the command prompt? Just not sure how long this will take.
October 21, 201213 yr Author It's up and a data rebuild is in progress. Patience is what was needed. UnRaid is awesome!
