long time lurker, first time poster.

I am considering the Abit AB9 for my first Unraid server based on the reviews on this forum. I have 3 PATA 300gb IDE drives that I would like to start with, but I noticed a post from 2007 that the IDE is not recognized by the Unraid software. I plan on having a 1TB SATA as the parity drive to go with the 3 PATA drives, and add new SATA drives as my budget permits. Therefore, is this motherboard still the best to start out with?

    Keep reading... I think I remember seeing that the wrong BIOS option selection would limit you to not seeing the IDE drives, but setting it to ACHI worked fine for all the drives.    (somebody else will need to confirm this)

    IDE works fine with the board. Just be sure to flash the BIOS and enable ACHI support.. I actually have two IDE drives being used on this board.
