Uninstalled unMenu and installed Simple Features, everything except the DNS server.  I am wanting to configure folder caching to speed up file browsing under Windows.

 

When I go to the Folder Caching config screen, I am presented with a number of options that I don't understand.

 

Is there a tutorial for what these options do, and how to configure them?

If all you need is to cache directories there is a plugin just for that instead of using the simple features package - it's in the wiki.

 

To answer your question just use the suggested defaults.  The only exception I would suggest would be to set "yes" to wait for array to go online.

Just turn it on. All default options are great for 99% of all users.
