I am getting ready to register and go to the mid level version.  I understand that the key is tied to the serial number of the thumbdrive.  What happens if the thumbdrive fails?  Do I have to re-register?

Email Tom at limetech and tell him your thumb drive has died.  He will then usually work something out with you to get you going again.  Thankfully I've never had to put this to the test but I've seen posts from other that have and they were issued new licences for the new thumb drive.  I got a spare thumb drives and licence so that if one dies I can immediately swap the other in while I wait for a new thumb drive to arrive and then a new licence key from Tom.
