[SOLVED] Upgrade from 4.7 to 5rc8a - No Networking

Featured Replies

UPDATE: The new 5.0-rc10 version fixed the NIC driver problem. Now everything works fine

Hi everyone

So, I decided to upgrade from 4.7 to 5 rc8a. I followed the instructions and it boots alright (actually, faster than the older version). I can login locally.

The problem is that I cannot connect remotely. I tried ifconfig eth0 and I get the response that there is no such device. Could it be that the drivers of my NIC are not included in the distribution? (it is an onboard NIC, according to the Mobo's site, it is a Realtek® 8110SB LAN chipset). Or could it be a completely different problem?

Btw, I reverted to 4.7 and it works fine, 'ifconfig eth0' shows a NIC too.

I appreciate any help
