[SOLVED] About licensing.

Featured Replies

Hi mates

In the last Release candidate of unraid 5.0 you have increased the maximum number of drives in the pro version from 21 to 24 Disks. But in the registration keys page you don't reflects it.

Does that extra drives are only for the Pro version or you have granted one or tho disks more to the Plus or basic versions?

Also I'm not sure if the Plus version admits 6 disks (parity +5 data) + an extra cache drive or just 6 (parity, cache + 4 data disks). Probably because I'm not an native english speaker, I'm spanish. Please would you mind tho clarify me that last point?

Thanks a lot.

I believe the extra disks are for Pro only. A also believe the licence covers data drives, so the Plus allows 6 data drives, plus a cache, plus a parity. I'm not 100% if the parity is counted as a disk or not, but someone else might be able to answer that??

AFAIK, Plus license = 6 drives : 5 data, 1 parity (and 1 optional cache drive)

Thank's to all

I've got a response from Tom Mortensen.

Right, the webpage still is referring to capabilities of unRaid version 4.7.  Version 5.x does indeed support 24 drives for Pro, still 7 for Plus (6 array plus 1 cache disk), 3 for Basic (3 array disks).  So with Plus you can have 1 parity, 5 data, 1 cache, total 7 drives.

Hope this helps,

Tom
