November 2, 201213 yr I am trying to find the best way to test drives before adding them to my array. I have come across preclear_disk.sh, bad blocks, bad blocks 1.42, and Joe L's DD in various posts. I have tried out preclear_disk.sh, bad block, and bad blocks 1.42 but have not found anything about Joe L's DD. I have tried searches but have come up empty handed. Can anybody explain what Joe L's DD is? If it need to be downloaded where to download it from?
November 2, 201213 yr The preclear script is the way 99%+ people on here test their drives before adding them to the array.

I guess that is what what I am seeing. Is that the command used in the preclear_disk.sh?
