My unRAID server always takes several reboots to start up correctly, not sure why but server isn't accessible first few times I turn it on but eventually works. I'm worried that constantly turning on and off the server is going to ruin the drives.

You have not provided any real information for anyone to analyze.  First, list all of the components in your unRAID server.  Second, tell what version of unRAID you are using.  Third, do you have a monitor connected directly to the server so you can see what is happening during the boot process?  If you do, taking picture of the screen when the boot process fails would provide valuable information about what is happening.
