Server becomes unresponsive

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I need your help.

I am running unraid 5.0 RC5 with 3tb drives, sabznbd and sickbeard. Everything has been running smoothly for about a month until I decided I was going to back up one of my computers and transferred via copy/paste in windows 1tb of data to the unraid.

I set it to transfer overnight. When I came home today, the server became unresponsive and it seems like half-way through it stopped the transfer with an error. The server is totally offline and I had to hold the power button to turn it off and then back on.

The same thing happened the day before when I tried to transfer the same stuff, I figured it was just an isolated incident...

So what do I do? MY unraid has become unstable and I don't know why it goes offline like that.

How would I capture it during a crash. I tried to tellnet into the unraid and it just doesn't connect. Would it be okay to do after a hard reboot?

Yes. Leave the telnet-tail process running until it crashes.

Do you guys think it could have been because I copied so much data at once using the windows copy-paste and not a special program for it?

Reason I ask is because I just copied all the folders in about 3 sections and now everything is fine and it hasn't crashed since and is running very smoothly.
