[Solved] Badblocks report

Featured Replies

I ran badblocks using this command

badblocks -sv -w -o /tmp/badblocks_sdl.out /dev/sdl

There is a file in /tmp with that name, but when I try to view it, it is empty.  Any tips on what I may have done incorrectly?  What should I be seeing?

Thanks,

~Whip

If there were no bad blocks, it would be empty.

Be aware though, you need to wait for badblocks to complete to see the list..

(and that can take several days on a large disk)

That's even better than I hoped for - Thanks!

(and yes, it took 70ish hours to complete on my new 3TB drive)
