November 4, 201213 yr Hi All, If someone could help me out with this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys! My setup as of a couple days ago was unRaid 4.7 Pro, with 5 drives, one of them being an SSD for the cache drive. I wanted to take out the SSD to use elsewhere, so I stopped the array, removed the drive from the cache slot in devices, and shut down. That part was fine. I now want to put a 2TB WD drive as the cache drive, but when I stop the array, add the WD drive to the cache slot, then start the array again, all my user shares are gone. All the data is still on the drives, so I'm not really worried, and when I remove the cache drive and start the array, all the shares return. Something I am missing that is preventing me from adding a cache drive again? I did try putting the SSD back but still have all shares disappear after starting the array again. Also tried just recreating a share after I added the cache drive , hoping it would just populate with the data that was previously in that share. No luck. Again, thanks for anyone that has any suggestions.
November 6, 201213 yr Last time this came up the cache drive was sick. Try running the reiserfsck checks as called out in the Wiki. Just use the /dev/sdX1 (where X is the letter of the cache drive) and don't forget the 1 on the end.
November 7, 201213 yr I have gone a different route and am tweaking the settings in the web interface. Can't seem to fix it either. I think I have exhausted most online forums for this issue as well. I will keep looking as well.
November 8, 201213 yr When it doesn't work, try going to the /mnt/cache directory on the server. If you can get there, then do a ls and see what files are there. If you have add-ons, something might be putting files there before the server can mount the disk. Next thing I would suggest is formatting the flash and trying a fresh install with no add-ons or plug-ins. Remember to keep the key file.
November 8, 201213 yr Don't bother with trying the new shares. Your shares dissapearing are pointing to some type of file system issue that needs to be fixed.
December 19, 201213 yr I had the same issue. I fixed it by stopping the array and "unassigned" the cache disk. Started the array (all user shares came back as expected) and went to the Shares screen. I changed "Min. free space:" back to the default 2000000. I removed any "Split level:" values and Applied the change. Stopped the array again, assigned the cache disk and re-started the array. Had the shock of my life when I saw the user shares were still there. Need to establish if both changes were required.
