November 9, 201213 yr I tried it on my system, it didn't recognize the drive. I'm pretty sure it was using the onboard SATA and I didn't check for an updated BIOS. That board and CPU are being replaced with a cheap AMD board and CPU.

That board and CPU are being replaced with a cheap AMD board and CPU. Anyone has the same bad experience as BLKMGK? I wanted to use my Asus P5B-VM DO with the new 3TB HDDs but if it's necessary to change the mobo for a new and cheap one, what would you choose? My CPU is a Intel Celeron 430 1.80GHz FSB800 Box socket 775, must I change it too? Here is my unfinished unraid box: Box: Sharkoon Rebel 12 Val. Ed. Bl ATX CPU: Intel Celeron 430 1.80GHz FSB800 Box socket 775 Mobo: Asus P5B-VM DO Hard drive bays (non-hot swap): 2 x Cooler Master + 2 x Thermaltake iCage RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 1GBB DDR2 800 PC2-6400 x 2 Power Supply: Corsair TX650 650W - CMPSU-650TXEU Expasion Card: Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 + Adaptec 1430SA, 1430A - 4 Port SATA II - PCI-E Fans: the Case ones + Tacens Aura II 80x80 Drives: 14 x WD2003FYYS (But I want to expand to 20 x WD30EZRX green ones; the WD30EFRX red ones are more expensive and I'm not sure if they are better for my big unraid box) Thanks again in advance.
