SMART question

One of the drives shows a increasing Reallocated Event Count:

196 Reallocated_Event_Count  100 100 000 33 OK

Does this mean there are actually sectors being remapped?

Is this reason to get worried?

Should the server be stopped until the drive is ready to be replaced?

Can this cause stuttering when a movie is played of the server?

First, post the full smart report.  The line you posted cannot be interpreted on its own.  We cannot tell if any sectors have been reallocated from what you've posted.

So far, it is not a reason to get worried.  (But need to see the rest of the report)  You do not need to stop the server.

It is unlikely to be the cause of stuttering, but again, need to see the full smart report.

smartctl -a /dev/sdX

At last a decent SMART report, showing 15 reallocated sectors in attr. #5 and 33 reallocated events.

Gonna do 2 preclear passes, see how it goes. I guess there is a bad spot on the disks?
