I have a 4.7 server, but I wanted to play with 5.0 (nice job guys by the way) so I threw a server together.

 

I set it up with 3 x 500GB drives. ALl seems well, but how come it says that Total size is 500gb.

 

It should be 1000GB right. Here is a screenshot. Its still syncing, but where did the 500GB go?

    your array has the size of 1000GB. but the parity-sync only needs to go over 500GB, since the parity drive is 500GB big.

    everything is correct with your array.
