re-install-on-reboot ... Was Re: Preclear options with different format drives

^^ Thanks. I haven't modified the jumpers on any of the drives. Is it necessary to check the jumpers if they have been used right out of the shipping box since day 1?

About the plugins - do I enable reinstall on reboot for all the plugins?

Given the umpteen number of views and no replies, I am rephrasing my query here.

New to unraid and have seen multiple ways on how we can install the plugins ..

a. using pkg manager in unmenu, and,

b. download .plg files from github and move it to /boot/config/plugins

using (a), I see an option to reinstall on reboot. Does this mean that unless I enable reinstall, the packages will be unavailable after next reboot?

using (b), do the packages have to be reinstalled everytime from the .plg files in the /boot/config/plugins directory?

I am yet to have a cache drive set (running preclear on the disks while exploring unraid options) but when I do, can I install all the packages at one go and have it available when I need it later? My server is running on Intel Q6600 quadcore with 4 GB ram.
