SATA and IDE?

Stupid question (probably), but if I have several SATA and two IDE disks in a system, and I later want to replace the IDE disks with SATA (when they eventually fail), are there any unforseen issues I need to be aware of now?  Or is it as simple as taking out the IDE and adding another SATA and letting the array rebuild?

    It is as simple as that.  (other than them using different cables and disk controllers)
