Custom Power Supply Cables

Featured Replies

For information purposes before the real question I'll let you know what hardware I have.

Azza Helios 910 case

Corsair HX750 power supply

3x Norco SS-400 4x3 drive cages

My question is is anyone knows of a good store to request custom length power supply cables.

They need to be compatible with the HX750 connector.

My situation is this.

1. I have the 3 400's installed in the 910 along with the HX750. My first issue is that the PS only comes with 2 cables with 4 4pin Molex connectors each totaling 8 connectors.

2. The Molex cables are, for lack of a better term, standard length with only a short distance between each Molex for normal use with internal components. This, however, makes it an issue in that because of the short distance between each Molex connector I can only use 1 4 Molex cable per SS-400 which left one SS-400 without power.

3. To fix #2, I purchased 3 Male 4pin Molex to 2 Female 4pin Molex Y-cables and attached them to one of the 4 Molex PS power cables. I then hooked up the Y-cables to each of the SS-400's.

This seems to have worked and other than a realy bad mess of cables seems to power all three SS-400's. I, however, am hesitant in the way this are set up and how power is ran to all three 4x3 cages off of one PSU cable.

I'd like to find a distributor that can take the measurements for the distance between each 4pin Molex power port on the back of the SS-400s vertically all the way to the PSU and create 2 custom length cables (3 4pin Molex connectors each) with a HX750 connector. This both being for even power distibution and cable mangement. I'll put a rough idea of what I'm looking for below.

I've found some create your own cable guides online, but I'd rather pay someone who knows what they are doing than try it myself and screw something up. If anyone knows of any online stores that offer this option for PSU cables I'd appreciate any information. Thanks.

I have custom cables from moddiy for seasonic to sata for 5 in 3 racks.

Nicely built cables, good communication, but not cheap..

Ordered connectors and wire from these guys. Posted as shipped in the 5th with no tracking number given, yet to see it. Parts ordered elsewhere the same day arrived a week ago! Need this  to complete my own custom cables...

If you could, post some pics of the parts you bought and when you finsh making them. I'm contemplating just buying the components my self, minus the sleaving and heat shrink maybe, and doing it myself. The problem for me bing the cost of a set of crimpers/stripers. Might be cheaper to have them do it in the long run.

Got my parts, I didn't realize that modDIY was shipping from overseas via air so it took a little while. I'm actually not going to be using the wire I received, while decent enough it seems awful thin and I have some better wire here I believe. I have a wire stripper already and I have a crimper that will work on these pins from doing automotive type connectors so no cost there for me either. Not much to take a picture of, well packed connectors and pins just like in their pics. Pins are obviously being snipped from a reel and the connectors were loose but packed in baggies to keep them straight along with the pins.
