Glad to see newegg is selling them again as not to long ago they were listed as discontinued. The price is either exactly what I paid or just slightly off. I bought my 5 IBM M1015s off of ebay for allot less than the new ones on newegg but they were used. seanant also sells them here on the forum when he gets some in to sell. Quote Link to comment

There are other numbers of M1015's out there. Does it matter which ones to get or any specific #'s to avoid, etc? Quote Link to comment

The numbers are just IBM stock numbers and are possibly just different production runs. You might find the one on newegg has newer firmware than the used ones on ebay. I don't believe there is any real difference between the models. Quote Link to comment

onlyjeeps Posted November 17, 2012 Author Share Posted November 17, 2012 After doing some research it appears the only difference between 46M0831 vs 46M0861 I can find is the 831 is a factory installed option and the 861 is a replacement card and sold to resellers. After all most used purchases don't have much if any warranty. The newegg card has a 1 year warranty. So new can be better if you want the piece of mind. Quote Link to comment
