I bought the BIOSTAR A780L3B 760G recently on a pretty good deal hoping I could use it for an unRaid setup, but it's not recognizing the onboard LAN.

 

#ifconfig eth0

eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found

 

I've verified that the port is working (booted up Ubuntu and it worked fine) and tried changing several bios settings (although there's nothing in there related to the LAN anywhere that I could find). Also flashed the BIOS but they were already up to date. I'm afraid it won't work with unRaid  . Anyone else have any luck with it?

Well, it is using a Realtek RTL8105T - 10/100 Controller for NIC. 

 

I would be tempted to get a Gb add-in NIC (a PCI card would be more than adequate) so that I could easily migrate to Gb LAN in the future. 

 

Many here recomand the Intel cards as they always work:

Be sure to disable the onboard NIC to prevent problems.
