ShangHangin
I am not sure what has happened, but recently Mover had not been cleaning up after moving files from cache into the array. I have rebooted, etc. Not sure if I need to do some clean-up, or what. Please advise. Syslog attached Thanks SH syslog-2012-11-18.txt.zip Quote Link to comment
Helmonder
The mover is not moving files of my cache drive or is copying and leaving files on the cache drive. - Log on to the server using telnet, use root or SU to root after logging in; - go to /mnt Do you see a directory called "USER0" ? If not: you need to reboot your system. If yes: - issue the following commands: chgrp -R users cache chown -R nobody cache chmod -R 770 cache - Log off from telnet - Try the mover again Quote Link to comment
ShangHangin
Thanks - I gave it a go, and did not seem to make any difference (syslog attached). I did go in and look at /mnt/disk#/directory ...the files that are on the cache drive are on the array drive - I think. The files names are appended with a * . Not sure what the star means. Further advise appreciated. SH syslog-2012-11-18-1.txt.zip Quote Link to comment
Helmonder
can you make a printscreen or capture of what you see left on the cachedrive ? Quote Link to comment
ShangHangin
I have a couple of things attached. 1. Finder window screenshot showing all the way to the mkv file level 2. Telnet screenshot that shows the same file on the cache drive and disk8 SH Cache_SS_Telnet.jpg.zip Cache_SS.jpg.zip Quote Link to comment
Helmonder
Okay... As far I can see your files are indeed copied off the cache drive but remain there for some reason.. Your syslog is full with messages from the mover: Nov 18 19:50:06 HAL_9000 logger: rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1042) [sender=3.0.7] Nov 18 19:50:06 HAL_9000 logger: ./Video_Library/Media Center - TV Series/Grimm/.AppleDouble/Grimm.S02E12.Season.of.the.Hexenbiest.mkv Nov 18 19:50:06 HAL_9000 logger: rsync: get_xattr_data: lgetxattr(".","user.org.netatalk.supports-eas.Li7wKT",0) failed: Exec format error ( Nov 18 19:50:06 HAL_9000 logger: rsync: get_xattr_data: lgetxattr("Video_Library","user.org.netatalk.supports-eas.9yY58I",0) failed: Exec format error ( Nov 18 19:50:06 HAL_9000 logger: .d..t...... ShangHangin
Seems the only way I can clean this up is to turn off caching and delete the files on the cache drive, then restart caching. It works for the files on hand, but when more files are deposited on the cache drive, then moved, same issue. Help appreciated from the Appletalk gurus. Thanks, SH here is the syslog when mover starts. oov
I'm running into the same issue as well. I've ran reiserfsck and SMART checks on all my drives and they all seem normal. I've also deleted all of the .AppleDB, .AppleDouble, and .AppleDesktop files on my drives. But I'm still getting errors with mover and my cache drive. The files get copied over and correct folders get created, however, they simply do not get deleted from the cache drive. If we can't fix this, is there a way to modify mover to forcefully delete the files on the cache drive if they were moved (hacky but will get us what we want)? I've also attached my syslog. syslog.txt Quote Link to comment
madburg
@ShanHangin & @oov You have corrupted/damaged extended attributes. Run the following command: getfattr -d /mnt/user0/%name of your share% See if you have any entries come back with "user.org.netatalk.supports-eas.%%%%%%: Exec format er" or post your results.
