August 15, 200817 yr I just this up for the first time so be easy with me I have 3 drives: 250gb (parity) 80gb (disk 1) 40gb (disk 2) Everything is setup and working and I created a Movies folder on the root of Disk 1 and Disk 2 and copied movies to both and after a restart of the array I had a Movies share that showed movies from both drives...COOL!!! The problem lies when I copy a movie to one of the disk's now and after it is done copying I can see it if I look directly at the disk but if I look thru the share it does not show up. If I stop and restart the array it shows up. I tried this same test with smaller files (excel files) and they showed up right away. What am I doing wrong???
August 15, 200817 yr Do your disk shares have a case problem. i.e. one named Movies and the other movies
August 15, 200817 yr What version of unRAID are you running? There was a couple of versions that acted that way. You'd write a file to a disk share but the file would not show up in the user share until after the array was restarted. There used to be a rescan button (Worded something like that) that would scan your disk shares & add new files to the user shares. That button was taking out & the behavior that you are describing would happen. The latest version of unRAID takes care of that problem. Phil
August 16, 200817 yr Author Wow...thanks for the fast replies. I set it up at work and wont be able to check it till Monday. I was pretty sure the case is the same on both folders but that is something I can check. I just installed it today so I am pretty sure it's the latest version...4.2.4 I think. Now that I look I think I installed the wrong version...should have been 4.3.3. I will check on Monday. Can I just copy the new files to my key and boot it or do I have to change something on the array or will it just work?? Thanks alot, Scott
August 16, 200817 yr If you installed 4.2.4, that is your problem. Version 4.3.3 will fix your problem. It is easy to upgrade. Just replace bzimage & bzroot with the new versions. You'll be set.
August 22, 200817 yr Author Yes it did...sorry I did not write back before. Everything is up and running..thanks to everyone who helped!!!
