**SOLVED** Lost User Shares

Featured Replies

Hello,

All user shares are missing. Data appears intact.

A number of recent events may be relevant or unrelated.

1. I installed my 6th data disk and after clearing, formatting and running a parity check I was surprised to find that none of my shares had been installed on the drive. This drive is the only one using a SATA port on the PCI card.

2. Unrelated to #1 I decided to adjust the minimum free space on the cache drive. Although I was actively writing data I did not think this would be a problem. The data upload failed and my Shares page no longer showed my shares. Multiple reboots have failed to solve this.

A current syslog is attached. Unfortunately I did not think to capture a syslog prior to my first reboot.

Any thoughts on where to go from here would be appreciated.

Un-assign the cache drive. Restart the array.

That works.

How do I get the cache drive mounted again? Every time I try the shares vanish. I unmount the cache and the shares reappear. Rebooting after unmounting/mounting the cache drive does not help.

thanks,

ron

Try reformatting the cache drive. Un-assign the drive and use pre-clear the clear the formatting. Then assign and format the drive.

Try doing the reiserfsck checks as listed in the Wiki on the cache drive before reformatting it.

Kudos to Tom (LimeTech) for his help chasing down this little problem. I noted in my first post

This was the problem. I put "1 GB" in for cache drive min free space and unRAID wanted "1GB" without the space. This parsing issue is corrected in the current release (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=25184.0).
