mobile CoreSolo, CoreDuo and Core2Duo

Featured Replies

Hi all,

How mach Unraid server avails mobile CPU?

Avails Unraid server Core2Duo or just CoreDuo or CoreSolo?

Or just Pentium M, eg. M740 ?

CPU place in desktop motherboard with Socket 479, 2GB RAM, ICH6 or ICH7 and other any PCIe or PCI SATA controller, integrated GLAN.

Thanks for any answer

Nothing answer?  :(

The current version of unRAID will work with dual core but will only use one core.

Future versions will likely use both cores.

NAS: Thanks for answer!!

I run UnRaid on motherboard Asus with T2300 and can replace CPU to higher model for performance of I/O operation and access via GLAN.

But after upgrade (e.g. T7200) do not may get high performance?

I "upgrade" motherboard and CPU to MSI MS-9625 and Pentium M740. Throughput may be same... ?

If I move HDD with data and parity drive from Asus with ICH6+JMicron to MSI MS-9625 with ICH6, do not loss data (if I save order of HDD vs port on ICH6 and well mark order of drive in config of UnRaid)?

Thanks for any answer

No samebody do not know?

To answer first question. There was a post here about a dual core processor no working when installed with an add-in SATA card so dual core processors don't always work.

For the second, If you keep track of the parity drive you should be OK. But, I would keep the order of them all if you can.

Wow. I do not know this. Your answer is very important for me. I can in future buy UnRAID Pro version and add to motherboard any SATA-II PCIe4x (Adaptec) controller.

"Upgrade" to MSI MS-9625 (915GM Speedster-FA4) with Pentium M 740 for me very important for future add SATA-II PCIe4x controller.

Why do not working dual core processor with add-in SATA card? Hmmm...very interesting.

OK.

Peter, very much thanks for these answers!

I have a dual core cpu working fine with 2 different addon SATA controllers. I have only heard of one user having this very strange problem with dual core cpu. I would buy a dual core without hesitation.

Ditto ... except I have used only one add-on SATA controller (Promise TX4).
