November 24, 201213 yr I have finally got my raid cards set up, and passing though the drives in VM server 2, on Windows Server 2003... It gets as far as to this line... and then it hangs: Starting system message bus: /usr/bin/dbus-uuidgen --ensure ; /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --system it wont get past here... not sure what is going on the raid cards are: SUPERMICRO SAT2 MV8 (2 PCI-X cards) running 14 drives, 13 2TB and 1 750G (cache)
December 10, 201213 yr Ever get an answer or solution to this? I just upgraded to the latest 5.0 beta last week, and things have been going fine, so I replaced my 2t parity drive with a 3t parity drive, and it wont boot now... Locked in the same place. Any hints welcome!!
December 10, 201213 yr I'm not sure I understand the question - The new drive is blank, so I wouldn't expect it to boot on a bare metal server, but in any case, it turns out I was being impatient - I don't know if it's going to be an ongoing issue, or a one-time thing, but I left it at that screen while I went to run some errands and when I got back, it had passed it, and I was able to proceed as expected.. I've replaced my parity drive several times under 4.x - This was different because it was my first disk replace under 5.x, and it was my first disk >2tb, so maybe for one of those reasons it took a while? In any case, it seems to be working now - I see the parity drive being written to (although I don't see the % complete indicator I'm used to with 4.7) so I think everything is going well.. -Steve
April 9, 201313 yr For me this happened because I was running simple features and the unraid box could not resolve: Unraid-simplefeatures.googlecode.com
