NFS question?

Featured Replies

How well is NFS implemented in unraraid 5.0. RC8?

Does it offer better speeds for streaming to mediaplayers than SMB?

What is the correct way to set it up, is just enabling NFS enough?

After enabling it, I see this in the syslog:

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal emhttp: Start NFS...

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal emhttp: shcmd (80): /etc/rc.d/rc.nfsd start |& logger

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal logger: Starting NFS server daemons:

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal logger:  /usr/sbin/exportfs -r

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal logger:  /usr/sbin/rpc.nfsd 8

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal logger:  /usr/sbin/rpc.mountd

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal mountd[6278]: Kernel does not have pseudo root support.

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal mountd[6278]: NFS v4 mounts will be disabled unless fsid=0

Nov 24 19:44:56 Hal mountd[6278]: is specfied in /etc/exports file.

Is this OK?

How to check the NFS mounts?

I'm looking for an answer as well.  In Settings\Network Services I can enable NFS.  In shares I can then Export NFS security settings.

I verified that I can see the shares.  When attempting to test a connection I got "access denied by server while mounting "  Obviously I need to do more.  In the faq for version 4 it mentioned exporting the type of access but I don't see that in version 5.
