GreggP
It looks like these 1 TB drives are available from several places at similar prices, but in case the others run out of stock you might find them there. It looks like the Cavalry drives are actually Western Digital WD10EACS drives. This $129.99 price includes free shipping. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=206895079&adid=17654&dcaid=17654 Quote Link to comment
SuperW2
16MB Cache... $10 more for the Seagate w/32 from ZZF (Not sure the average UnRAID will notice a difference). SW2 Quote Link to comment
BLKMGK
Dell deal didn't ship... Quote Link to comment
GreggP
Yeah, I doubt you'd notice the difference between 32 MB and 16 MB cache with unRAID. You may appreciate the greater power efficiency of WD's "Green" drives though. http://www.wdc.com/en/products/greenpower/index.asp Quote Link to comment
cool_runner
Bought two. I already have three of these drives, and there is a temperature difference of about 7C between these drives and my other drives. Quote Link to comment
Jon
16MB Cache... $10 more for the Seagate w/32 from ZZF (Not sure the average UnRAID will notice a difference). SW2 Plus the Seagate comes with a 5-year warranty. That is the primary reason all new drives going into my unRAID server are Seagates (aside from the additional cache). Still a pretty darn good deal on a TB drive though. Prices are definitely coming down. Quote Link to comment
JRS
Anyone have any idea of which version these are? WD10EACS-32ZJB0 WD10EACS-00ZJB0 WD10EACS-00D6B0 Six months ago the WD GP I got were all 00ZJBO. BestBuy had a sell back in late May/early June and I got one then ($169+tax) that turned out to be the 00D6B0, which is the three platter version - a bit better performer and a better at power usage.
