$189 for 4TB Drive

Recommended Posts

I don't reckon 4TB is really worth it yet (unless you've filled up all your SATA slots with 3TB drives).

You get 3TB for $89 and paying more than twice as much for another TB is not recommended.

I don't see any 3TB drives for $89 anywhere anymore. Please let me know where I can still get one.

I agree the best value are the $89 3TB drives you can't get anymore.  I would have bought them, but they sold out too quick :(  That said, the red label 4TB Hitachi drives are pretty nice.  Also, the Hitachi drives are made in Thailand and not China, not sure which is better.  The 4TB drive also comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty versus 2 years.

I own two of the 4TB 0S03355 drives and they are very fast and extremely quiet. I just ordered 8 more of the 4TB drives to max out my 4U case (holds 10 drives, blu-ray player and two ssds).  For the extra money I would save with 3TB drives, I would need to find a 4U rack mount case to hold more drives; at least 13, plus my SSDs and blu-ray drive.

Stalles.com will pricematch amazon.

You're missing the part that there is currently nothing to pricematch. If there is, please let me and everyone else know.

Hi Christian,

We were trying to compare deal prices. 4TB on a good deal was $189. 3TB on a deal was $89. Right now 4TB is back to $269. Either way, if you were looking for a 3TB drive, here's a 3TB external for $109.

RussellinSacto's point was good - that if someone needs a 4TB, this was a good deal. I just wanted to point out that unless one really needs the space, one should wait to get a better deal.
