[SOLVED] When to be worried about a drive?

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if there is anything in the smart report I should be worried about besides whether it passes or fails overall?

For instance should I be worried about lines like this? Or can I just not care because the overall SMART health is passed, and its not red balled.

These values are manufacturer related and only them can interpret the result. The indicators you should look for are 'sectors pending re-allocation' and 'sectors that have been re-allocated ' and any increase of these two. It is ok to have sectors that have been re-allocated, as long as the amount of re-allocated sectors do not increase over time. That would be an indication of a drive that is on its way out.
